One Fire For All Festival is a transformative family gathering that unites people from all walks of life around a sacred fire. We come together to share our diverse cultures, traditions, and visions for a new dawn for humanity, guided by the wisdom of elders from the far corners of the world. Our mission is to ignite a fire that honors the rich tapestry of cultures that shape our global society, embodying the spirit of respect and paving the way for a new Earth.
Friday Opening Ceremony : Water is Sacred
For the native civilizations of the American continent, water has always been sacredβwoven into countless rituals, just as it flows through our daily lives. Water holds life, teaches us, and is often regarded as medicine.
Opening Ceremony Friday 29th.
Water the First Element
Water Ceremony
Time: 7:00 PM β 10:00 PM
Bring: Your own cup
Location: Teepee, Field A
In our modern world, this sacred relationship has been neglected. Rivers and seas are polluted, ecosystems are destroyed, and vital water sources vanish due to exploitation. Where life once thrived, emptiness remains. We have turned water into a commodity, forgetting its role as a living relative.
Our Intention
This ceremony is held to bring awareness to our internal watersβthe waters that flow within usβand our relationship with the external waters: the rivers, lakes, seas, and the water we drink. Through prayer, song, and shared silence, we reconnect with these life-giving forces, honouring their presence within and around us.
Ceremony Flow
We will gather around the fire and create a beautiful altar for the water, adorned with flowers, crystals, fruits, and other heartfelt offerings.
Seated in a circle around the sacred water, we will begin with a short introduction on how the ceremony will unfold.
Marakame Don Effre. Medicine Man from the Wirrarikma Nation.
Marakame Don Effren will open the space with his words, a sacred chant, and a blessing for all. Each participant will be invited to share a few words in honour of the water, followed by singing a song together.
In silence, we will drink the blessed water, letting it touch our spirit. From that stillness, sound will riseβinviting movement, dance, and celebration as acts of gratitude and liberation.
We will close with a moment of silence before a final sound journey and dance.
