About
INDIGENOUS CEREMONY WITH THE HUNI KUIN
At Inti & Waira House
July 31st & August 1st
With immense joy, Inti & Waira welcomes into our home the Huni Kuin Indigenous family for a ceremony with the Medicines of the Forest.
Our gathering takes place with the purpose of preserving, restoring, and spreading the culture of the native and ancestral peoples of the Amazon. It will be two days of learning with them about body painting, natural medicines, circle songs, prayers, spiritual diets, and many other teachings related to the rich mythopoetics of the Huni Kuin people.
A mythopoetics that teaches us to feel in our xinã (thought-feeling) how we are an integral part of Nature. We humans are forces—spirits—presences coexisting and dialoguing with all the other forces—spirits—presences found in nature, such as minerals, plants, animals, waters, and so many other worlds that inhabit our world.
We will be guided by the spiritual leader Txana Iba and his brother Txana Siã, the direct son of Pajé —, one of the most important spiritual pillars of the Huni Kuin people.
During this ceremony with the Huni Kuin people, we will be united across cultures, peoples, traditions, arts, dances, graphic designs, medicines, and forms of knowledge that intertwine in continuous dialogues. Dialogues that lead us into the culture of the “Other,” so that we may recognize ourselves as an integral part of it—an ancestral part of it—thus dissolving the illusion of the “Other” as we enter the awareness that everything and everyone is one single Nature, one single People, one single Being.
Everyone is most welcome to this sacred moment of encountering ourselves and our ancestry, guided by the medicines of the Huni Kuin people.
Yhuuuuu!!!!!! Haux Haux!
